About the Author

Charlaine Sevigny is a Canadian author, speaker, and advocate creating books and resources that help children, teens, caregivers, educators, and counsellors navigate difficult conversations with clarity, compassion, and practical understanding.

She draws from decades of experience supporting children and youth in counselling-focused roles, alongside lived experience with addiction and its impact on families.  Her work focuses on giving people language for experiences that are often difficult to explain.

She is the author of The Tricky Sticky Addiction Monster, The Ultimate Guide to Secrets for Kids, and Mostly Okay, resources designed to support honest conversations around addiction, mental health, safety, self-harm, and emotional wellbeing.

Charlaine’s work has been used in schools, literacy initiatives, and caregiver support settings. She is passionate about creating tools that help children and families feel informed, empowered, and less alone.

She lives in Grande Prairie, Alberta with her husband, two of her four children, and a slightly cross-eyed cat named Goose.
