Speaking and Initiatives

In 2026, Charlaine Sevigny collaborated with Rotary District 6920 in Georgia, USA, as part of a literacy and addiction-awareness initiative centered around The Tricky Sticky Addiction Monster.

During the District’s Annual Conference in Macon, Georgia, Rotary members participated in an Opioid Summit focused on education surrounding opioid use, its effects on individuals and families, and the growing impact of addiction across communities in the United States.

As keynote speaker, Charlaine spoke about the importance of giving children language for experiences they may not yet understand, particularly in homes and communities affected by addiction. She also shared the story behind the creation of The Tricky Sticky Addiction Monster and discussed the need for practical, accessible tools that help adults navigate difficult conversations with children in safe and supportive ways.

As part of the initiative, Charlaine donated the use of 250 books for conference attendees, including physicians, medical students, educators, university faculty, food support providers, business leaders, and community advocates.

Rotary District 6920 is also printing copies of the book for a pilot school initiative designed to place resources directly into the hands of school counsellors and support professionals across 17 school districts. It is hoped that the success of the pilot program may create a pathway toward a broader statewide initiative in the future.
